I have deliberately kept my practice small so as to provide the kind of personal service that clients need during a very difficult time in their lives. We find that clients really appreciate this customer service. The best part of my job is being there as a client develops a happier, healthier legal life.
It is hard to define what makes a case sucessful when any outcome in these family situations necessarily involves some degree of loss, be it loss of one or more relationships, loss of certainty, or loss of at least some property interests.
Most clients want to see their cases resolve quickly and fairly. Typically, the most successful cases involve:
- an actively involved client who works towards the future solution they seek;
- reasonable expectations of, and patience with, the legal system; and
- support for the client beyond our office, e.g. from friends, family, and perhaps a counselor.
